I thought I had some skill points to spare (thanks to getting rid of all the useless skills) and that since I had to get close to enemies sneaking and assassination would be an option before engaging in a more traditional fight. It's definitely not as counter productive as an archer sneaking around so I'll have to see how it works out (it's nice to try different things otherwise there would be no point in replaying through the game). Bottom line it's not hurting the build (unless I had taken all these points and put them in Earth magic instead).

You are entirely right about two handed weapons. Dual wielding tabards and exotic axes may look cool it's not efficient compared to the sheer destructive power of a decent two hander.

I took my Level 61 PC and COMPLETELY rebuilt it. I have made a NecroWarrior type, heavy armor, big fucking weapon, backed with Necromancy skills. I use PC to debilitate Archers so I can get to them in melee and chop them with one of my many two-handed axes. One does Fire, the other does Lightning, and I have a partly upgraded Grom Cutter that does Spirit damage. I have found this combination to be very interesting. I also got a brand-new set of Armor, it's akin to the Shadows Plate Hauberk, but it has the color of metal. I sort of like it, it has that industrial look I like.

DAMN, my NecroWarrior has became POWERFUL! I sold ALL single-handed weapons and started building two-handed weapon. I absolutely love Halberds/Bills/pole-type weapon. I also made some two-handed axes, like Double Deaths, and one GromCutter. I'm a little pissed off, I wanted the GromCutter to be a Lightning weapon, but I "fused" it with a weapon doing spirit damage. Oh well. I have hunted down reagents for mana/willpower boost potions, and the NecroWarrior has a decent number of Mana as well. I let the enemies come to me, and when they're like little duck, all in a row, I case a couple of poison clouds to stun them briefly and then cut them down at the same time. I also invested points in Earth Magic for the Golem summons. That makes the NcroWarrior's tactic even easier. OH, one more thing: Cara, hunt down the cave called Norgat Cave. It has some very sweet loot. Right edge of the map, roughly in the middle. Check it out. Tons of chest makes this a perfect place for stocking loot as well seeing as there are no respawns. I pick my hideouts as I would myself, and this cave is wide and in the middle of nowhere. Makes it perfect for me, I've planted a Teleport Stone right next to the area in which three chests sit. Now I can build myself a plethora of weapons and armors, and keep them in stockage until they're ready for prime time.

Is this the cave with the ogers, spiders and groms? I was rather thorough so unless the cave is really hard to find I think I may have explored it before.

I didn't play Two Worlds a lot lately (I've been messing with Fallout New Vegas) but I've found out that foxes could be killed for permanent reagent. I'm currently hunting foxes and beavers.

I've reached level 24 and maxed out alchemy. Getting the most out of potions that increase stats makes a huge difference. My character gained 28 points in Vitality, 40 in Dexterity, 28 in Strength and 10 in Willpower.

Air Magic is absolutely great for buffs by the way. I'm still looking for the Strength spell but in the meantime I get more than 60 points in Strength and Dexterity by using this spell...

I'm not really satisfied with heavy armours so far. I think lighter armours look much better in this game (I've found a few nice looking heavy armour sets but the black ugly armours were better). Weapon wise I'm going with basic stuff. A two handed sword with poison damage and a two handed club with spirit damage.

The game is more challenging with a melee character and that's not a bad thing. With a bow you could take down your enemies before they got in range, with a melee weapon it's all about timing your attacks and evading incoming attacks. Killing "red" enemies is fun!

Cara, no, it's a cave filled with Undead, more specifically skeletons. Made a little video about it:

Thanks TON! I have missed it. I haven't been thorough enough. Wink

No problem, dude. I thought this was such a perfect hideout to stash equipment that I had to pass the info on to you. It did require some through exploration, and my NecroWarrior is to be a game where I explore the whole F'N map and hunt for as many secrets as possible. Back to Norgat cave, those chests (the three in my video plus others in the cave) are holding multiple sets of armor and weapons currently being built up for later use. I've got three two-handed axes and like 7 various halberds/bills.

Looting is a big thing in this game. Earlier levels are a bit hit and miss but when you reach level 24 your character starts to be a force to be reckoned with.

I'm convinced Archery is too powerful to be fun. At least with a melee character your enemies can get in range to hit you (sometimes).

While I had a lot of fun with my Archer run, but the NecroWarrior has proven me that melee can be a hell of a lot of fun. With PC and several large, very sharp axes, I cut them down, and it's fun. Some halberds as well, they're the best for a Deadly Pirouette in a tight spot!

I have a bunch of set of armors in this chest, and I am seriously simmering the idea of actually making an item database. I have "To The Death", "The Fire", "The Forest", "The Air" Plate Dragon hauberks, "The Consumation", "Proud One" "Perfect One", "Power", "The Black Knight", "Shadows Plate", "Death", and of course "Rage". I have some parts of "Golden Pride" as well.

Pretty. All the shiny little trinkets in one place!

Melee is probably more fun because you have to position your character and you can move around to attack and evade blows. It's more dynamic and less about button smashing (although timing attacks with a bow make it less of a click fest it's very repetitive).

/minor thread necromancy

Minecraft burned through most of my free time, but I still managed to keep on playing some TW. The NecroWarrior is now level 68, and now that he's a Melee specialist, this guy is a massive threat. Hell, I just had fun in the multiple Trachidis camps south of the Gon, whipped out my big F'N axe and splitted those sons of bitches apart like the insects they are. Fun, that was. I have completely abandoned swords, and I only keep two-handed weapons. I have four two-handed axes, and five spears/halberds. I need nothing more -- I got every type of damage I need to destroy any enemy. Also, PC and DH. Enough said!

Nothing wrong with thread Necromancy when talking about Necromancers. I've been playing and modding Fallout New Vegas recently so my Two Worlds character is on hold. I stand by my earlier comment that two handed weapons are more fun than archery. I simply like the way light armours look compared to heavy armours.
