Thanks, Nak. There is a lot of work to do, though... I have huge mountains to excavate, but I have a hefty supply of TNT, so it's no problem. I am still working on the moat, which is a massive order, and in the meanwhile, I melted some sand to glass and I'm going to keep working at the glass sides. There is one to complete, and I will do the Obsidian roof as well. But the ginormous artificial lake requires all my attention ATM.

The moat is 66.6% complete, and I admit, I am looking forward to finish it. The other lava curtains are complete as well, and I found a good source of Lava in th Nether, so once the moats are complete, I'll fill them up. There is one more side of glass to do, I have exclusively devoted my time to the moat yesterday. Pics coming soon enough, if all goes well you might be able to feast your eyes on the finished product.

Great, keep on working on these building skills we're going to need them for Nakia's project when Skyrim comes out, these houses won't build themselves! Wink

Laughing That is true. A whole village I want. What I have seen of the buildings in Skyrim look much more interesting than ones in Oblivion.

|The moat is 98.9% complete, there is but a small section to finish, after that it's on to the Lava cascades, and screenshots tonight, possibly...?

It is done! The moat is FINALLY complete, all four lava cascades have been "turned on", and while I got a couple of flaws to fix, it came out to my liking. I need to do some finishing work like the roof and equalize the cascades, but overall, this project is DONE!

View from one of the corners. Ignore the stones stacked vertically, they were tools for building the cascades, I will tear them down later.

One of the lava cascades seen from the front

Removed the glass on the side of the stairs in order to create a nice curtain of fire.

The top of the tower, one of the lava cascades is empty as I was tweaking the bottom of it. There is now a roof of obsidian on top of the structure.

Close up view of the cascades and what was supposed to be a portal.

View of the ginormous moat. Filling the entire structure with lava is going to be as long as building it, I think.

I like the pyramid thing (not sure it's a pyramid but it looks like one).

Technically, Brother Cara, this base was meant to be a bunker of some sort. Then I started building up, and I thought it looked great as a skyscraper. Then everything came together.

It is not a pyramid, although I admit it looks like one. Here's the deal -- I wanted to build a portal to the Nether to gather the Bloodstone I needed for this base, and I built it too large. Instead of tearing it down, I left it there, and added waterfalls at the bottom. Then came the idea of the glass walls on top of Obsidian/Bloodstone foundation. Then came the idea of using the top of the portal to build cascades using stone stairs, I had plenty of Cobblestone, so I tried my hand at building one cascade. It turned out well, but the length of the design required a place to collect the falling lava because letting the lava flow free is a stupid idea, so the moat came to be, after a LOOONG marathon of stacking Cobblestone and Obsidian.

This was a very long piece of work, but in the end, I feel it was absolutely worth it. If you're ever curious enough to check out the game, I can send you this perticular save, and you can play the world I built my Bloodscraper as your own.

It is trul a marvelous creation. I do not think I would have the patience to build something like that . In fact I don't think I would have even conceived such an idea.

You are a true artist, TON.

Sneak peek at my new project... I long wanted to build a base in the Nether, and this is it, it's underway.

Here are two screenshots, as can be seen on both pics, there is a natural cascade of lava flowing down. I used it to build a lava pool right under where the base is. Since I am building around the lava fall, I have decided to integrate it into the actual building itself. With the Metroid texture pack I will also plant some Jack O Lanterns because they look exactly like the skulls in Crateria in Super Metroid.

Think of this as my personal take on Zio's Castle in Phantasy Star 4.

Screenshots from my take on Zio's Castle coming soon. Some parts of the castle I built out of... exotic materials. Lava falls and lots of Bloodstone and Obsidian are present as always, as well as a floor completely made out of glass. I built a ginormous stairway as well. Looking good, I must say,.

Right, so a weird schedule this week and little time for myself, I have been delayed a bit. I have decided on some structural changes for the base, which means I have to cover up the ENTIRE building with the new material. With the Aleph Setai texture pack, it looks SICK, though.

All right, here we go! Quite proud of this one, came out nicely! It's not 100% done yet, though, I am working on it. The rooms are plain and not decorated, but that is irrelevent at the moment.

This is my take on Zio's Castle from Phantasy Star 4. I love this game, and even though Zio was nothing but a puppet to a greater power, I thought he was badass, his cape was sick.

...*ahem* But I digress. The "exotic" materials I used were...

Blocks of Redstone ore. Zio's Castle is a villain's base, and this kept in mind, I think the redstone fitted. This guy is powered by an entity of pure evil, so use your imagination and imagine it's fragments of trapped souls or something.

Second exotic material is Glowstone. Three reasons for this:

1- It covers the Obsidian parts of my base, which hides the near-indestructible true nature of my base.
2- It looks sick with the Metroid texture pack AND the Aleph Setai pack as well
3- I don't have to bother with torches

Aleph Setai texture pack, a wall in construction

Another angle, view of the lava pool and the stairway

The lava fall that was integrated in the construction of the building

The pinnacle. It requires a bit of tweaking but looks good. As you can see, those are the beginnings of the 4 lava cascades.

One of the floors, with the glass ceilibg

Another level

The glowstone looks like it contains the flames of the eternal fury of the darkness, and I love it. The Aleph Setai gives a more alien feel, which is nice.

very awesome!!!! did you know you can take screen caps with the F2 button in minecraft? F1 will hide the UI. i love your pictures but some of them are blurry.

(if its not F 3 then its F 3 but i think F3 is the info screen)

Yeah, the pic of the level with the chests is really horrible, I admit XD

For my defense, I was blazed out of my head when those pics were taken, and one of the effects of the fog is becoming stupidified. I used the Berry instead of taking screenshots from the game. /facepalm And Jez, when I'm done with this one, give the word and it's yours to play. I have done nearly squat on the normal world as my activity has been in the Nether, but there is a valid spawning point this time, promised. XD

Once I am done with the base, I will start building a huge town around the castle. I know exactly what I want, it will be a hell of a lot of work, but I have pulled out the Bloodscraper, right? Well, I'll pull this one off as well.

[F'Npissedoff]My base in the Nether save corrupted. Piece of shit computer froze while I was playing, I was forced to press the reset button. The save still exists in my Minecraft directory, but the game does not see it, nor can I load it. This means that this project is doomed to live on only in pictures. However... I have another project in mind. I was watching an episode of the old animated cartoons of TMNT, at the end a large glass building is flooded with water and the water flows through the trapdoor to the roof then drops over the ledges like three different levels of water pyramids. My take on that is next.
