The Witcher 2

CD Projeckt RED has set the date of its spring conference which will take place on April 14.

More information about the game will be revealed on this occasion:

I cant wait! this is my birthday gift from my mother!

I'm a bit concerned about the system requirements. I have no intention of investing in a new computer so I really hope my dual core processor will be good enough to run this game. My fingers are so crossed that they're blue (like your avatar Jez ).

If its as good as the first game - and, of course, we will need to wait and see - then it will be well worth playing

I have great hopes for this game. I loved the design of the original Witcher, the medieval atmosphere was conveyed rather well -castles, cities, clothing were all believable for a medieval setting unlike so many other games.

Besides when you consider that the first Witcher was made with the same engine that was used to make Neverwinter Nights then you can but wonder what they can do with a new engine.

The hack and slash parts may have dragged a bit at times but the music (probably among my favourite CRPG music along with Fallout and Arcanum) and the atmosphere were great.

The Witcher is certainly one of the most enjoyable medieval fantasy games I have ever played.

Ok, some (great) news:

- No censorship anywhere. People will be playing the same game whether in Germany (with gore) or in the US (with sex).

-By registering your game you'll be able to download the English and Polish language packs. That's great for players like me whose nightmare is dealing with localized versions when they are fluent in English. Polish voices is cool if you want to play the game like you would watch a movie in the original language. Registering will also allow you to take advantage of updates, patches and free downloadable content.

-Regarding securom and stuff, players will have to connect to the internet once to be able to play the game. That may come as a nuisance to players who don't care much for online activation but once it's done an active internet connection won't be required.

-Furthermore, if I got this right, the game will check for saves from the first Witcher to take into account the choices you've made in the first game. One incentive to go through the first game one more time before the Witcher 2 is released.
