Not sure what's goin on. This is a fresh install of NV, no mods installed. I re-installed due to an issue I was having with the textures.

After I uninstalled, I ran ccleaner and cleared out all the remnants in the registry. Did the same with Steam, just in case my issues was caused by it. Cleared all items from the system that pointed to Steam and New Vegas.

Reinstalled Steam, then NV. On first launch where it detects your graphics, it crashes. So I move the New Vegas directory out of the Steam folder into Programs (x86). NV Launcher detects the graphics card. Launches the game, first load screen CTD.

So I decide to do something that is frowned upon:
Spoiler:

I would post at the BethSoft forums or the Nexus, but the info in the spoiler would get me banned. NV is now unplayable and I have no idea what to try next. Am back on FO3 until someone else can give me more ideas to try.

You've tried everything I'd suggest Old Coot. Smile

I'm coming up blank. I've never had problems with New Vegas, and I play through Steam as well

Yea, I guess I have just broke it completely. I am sure if I reformat my system, it would probably be fine.

It has to be a reg error that;s causin it, but I am just too lazy to reformat right now.

Looks like a registry thing.
