I saw on another forum a video of some young boys smashing up peoples buildings.

TBH, my server is only up every once in a while, and I also capped the number of players to three. I also activated online mode, so the server authenticates usernames, no valid MC account = no access.

While I am it, here is another progress update:

I am also working on another version of my MM texture pack. I am playing with colors in this one to make it feel like an alien world.

Oh, good, I got worried when I saw a video some stupid kids put up showing them wrecking the things people had built.

Looks nice but I am awaiting the mega project.

Quick progress update...

The commercial district has been upgraded a little bit, I added a shooting range, a convenience store, and I am building a mega store.

I have began another residential quarter, I plan on doing smaller houses and maybe smaller apartment buildings as well.

I am also working on a full-blown, functioning lighting system that can be turned on and off, and this is proving to be a serious pain in the ass, but it's worth it.

Not much else to say, I will try and upload a vid this weekend, possibly.

I actually got the video done. It's nearly seven freaking minutes long.

That looks fabulous. Don't know how you have the patience to do it!

Thanks, Sil. Smile Like I said, architecture is in my blood, and I am pretty proud of that project so far, even if it's but a fraction of how huge this city will be. I have many more things planned -- artificial beaches, different weather like jungle, tundra and desert, waterfalls, lakes... I have barely began to scratch the surface of what I can do with this project. My imagination is the limit!

The textures are fugly, though... I forgot to switch TP.

Can you do lakes with boats on them? Will animals road the countryside? This sounds like a major project. Volcanos? This is absolutely amazing.

Animals I can do, I just need to seed spawners on the map, and voila. Volcanos I can do as well (even though it would look squarish), but they'd be in a dormant state or permanantly erupt and leaking lava. There are some boats in the game, but I theorically could just build a shipyard and build ships, they won't be able to sail but it would look awesome.

Like I said -- my imagination is the limit. This project will be my grand masterpiece.

It's nice, I like the boards at the end. Nice touch. Wink

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Smile

I am currently developing the third residentiel quarter, the brick houses in the video, and I will expand the commercial district as well.

There will be more of those, the shooting range needs one, and there will be other ones as well. The board who reads "551" is a direct homage and nod to something IRL.

IMO the green "Z" is more visible.

Both Z's are green, actually, I don't know why, but the purple glowstone gives the illusion of it not being green. :/

I thought I'd show it with the two variations of my own TP. This is an appetizer, as I am currently working on the third residential quarters, and this one will be WAAAY bigger. Stay tuned.

Here is a look at my remixed TP. This contains parts from the WoTES pack, and the rest is my M&M textures.

The ores have been standardized, only the color changes. The blocks are different. Same for the stone bricks, everything has been standardized.

Sure thing, here is a look at the houses in the third residential district. I have to admit, this perticular district will be cookie-cutter houses, but I had a mobile home-esque vision in mind for this district, smaller and more affordable homes, that kind of thing. From top to bottom: Sandstone, cobblestone, bricks, spruce wood, stone bricks.

And here is an updated look of the global project:

Here is another look at the global project.

I am taking a slight break on this project, I am currently sinking my teeth into a new map, this time I want to do a medieval-style city. Not to the same scale than Project 1942, but a large city nontheless.

It's just easier to show the global map then capture screenshots of the actual buildings, they are just so massive it's hard to fit in a shot.

In the bottom left, that is a tentative expansion of the agricultural quarters. There are four farms, some will grow food, other will raise animals. Of course, I plan on building several more farms. My attention is on the residential quarters ATM.

And in the upper right corner, this is the 3rd residential district. There are 56 houses at the moment, and right next door, in the 2nd residential district, I will build 3 or possibly 6 more of enormous apartment buildings.

I also want to do the buisness district. I am planning on building skyscrapers. Enough said.

I also want to do a natural waterfall and a lake. Plant some spawners to get animals to spawn, and voila. Volcano is on the list as well.

I am also toying with the idea of flattening the End and building a town there, and another town in the Nether.

Again, this project might take many years to complete. But I have taken it this far... there's no stopping. I just take regular breaks to play some TW. Yup, I dusted it off. Damn fun game.
