I have integrated some more RL in this build.

Here is a representation of my workplace. In shambles and on fire. Forever.

These look like fun. The more I watched your screens it reminds me of Sim City (in a good way). Smile

First screenshot is the mega store. I based the concept off a store called Distribution Aux Consommateurs. You had a bunch of catalogs, you picked your stuff, filled a little card, gave that to a clerk, who fetched the stuff in the hugeass storage area.

The rest of the shots are pretty much self-explanatory. The Dubois chemical plant was slightly modified, though, I made it out of bedrock instead of stone bricks. There is also a water pit right next to the plant, also made out of bedrock for security reasons. Bedrock is indestructible in Survival mode, which is only fitting for a chemical plant where leaks are to be avoided. I also made a sliding door for deliveries of chemical goods.

I also built some other luxury apartment buildings as well. Next on the list is the buisness district (skyscraper galore), as well as retouching some other areas. I originally used mossy stone, but I have since changed my mind in favor of Nether brick, which just looks so much better.

I'll try and do another video, but it definitively would go over 10+ minutes seeing as there is so much to show.

I also used a little trick I learned to improve the redstone lighting, which just looks better now, IMO.

Here are two more constructions I just finished. A massive fountain -- who kind of looks like a well, too, now that I look at it --and a Japanese restaurant. "Fooking" is used humorously here.

Well, it's been ages since I posted any updates in here!

I haven't played as much as I would like... I now work full time, and along with a girlfriend, this kind of digs real deep in my play time.

At any rate, I did a nod to my first big build, the Tropias, in this build. I built a Pyro, Hydro, Nega and Icetropia section for the town, each with their own theme. I am also building Sky and Jungle, but those are in their absolute beginning stages and not ready to be shown. Still, here is a few screenshots. This build has been in the works for one year now and isn't anywhere near complete.

Still, I am quite liking how this project is turning out. Here are a few various screenshots.

I am currently in the process of laying the groundwork for the Tropia-inspired districts. It is a long and time-consuming process but I should have some screenshots later this week. My gf works when I am off so most likely Thursday or Friday I'll have some more visual goodness.

I never did post any kind of updates... I shall rectify that.

Here is an updated look at the global map thanks to MCEdit. PyroTropia, HydroTropia, EarthTropia, LightTropia and SkyTropia are all partly done, at least the groundwork is and some of them have houses.

I am currently splitting my time between IceTropia and RockTropia. The latter is a new Tropia I have added thanks to the last MC update who adds three other types of rock. RockTropia will simulate the feeling of an underground city, and to contribute to the mood this Tropia will be lit by Redstone torches to create a darker area.

SkyTropia is the blue platform on top of LightTropia, PyroTropia and HydroTropia.

This project is clocking on to two years of work. Everything has been done old school by hand. NO cloning buildings. I played a map with a friend who was a big town, but this suckass map was Copy/Paste all over again. I swear, I saw at least 100 whorehouses and mosques on this bloody piece of crap map. It is an absolutely LAZY way to do a map. Sure, some buildings will look the same on this map but there is a method to my madness.

On that note, enough talking.

Oh yeah, the purple blocks on the map are blocks who have no texture in MCEdit. I am using an old version and I am amazed it still works.

Yeah, it's kind of my re-envisioning of SkyTropia, and now that I am no longer stuck with a 256 blocks maximum height for building, I did that town quite a while ago. At first it didn't had the triangular support beams with integrated fountains, but I thought it would look nice. With the fill command I saved a lot of time, and I am putting the final touches. The glass roof was ridiculously long to build, but it was worth it.

The first screen is HydroTropia, a different version of it, with houses on pillars, vines and all that. It's less than 15% done, but things should go faster with the fill command.

I could do another video, it's been ages since I did so, and a lot has changed on this town. The ice town has been put on ice, pun not intented. Starting over is just a massively dumb idea when I have a project that's been in the works for 3+ years.

Excuse all the red, it's a joke resource pack I made with a friend. I'll post some more screens with my regular RP.

This is not 1942 related, but I thought it was still worth posting.

Playing a survival map I ended up in a Jungle biome with lots of tallass trees. This is one of those spontaneous build ideas I have, and this time, I had an idea for a treehouse in one of those manually extended jungle trees. Took a few hours, super basic build, but for an idea that struck me out of nowhere, it turned out pretty good.

Really like the ending of the video when we see the outside and get a wider shot. Pretty cool set up. Well done.

Cheers, bro. Inspiration strikes at the oddest moments and in the oddest forms.

This base will be easy to find, and I'm thinking of visiting the Nether to harvest some glowstone to light it up somewhere down the line. I had forgotten how fun playing in survival was.

Doing a video wasn't part of the plan, but I updated my Catalyst drivers and it installed some gaming shite -- Raptr, I think -- which does video capture and allows me to directly post vids to my YT account, which is nice.

1942 needs another video tour as well. I've done so much since the last video it's ridiculous.

I've watched the video a second time and I think you should elaborate on the tree design I think it has some great potential. The majestic tree structure rising above the entire forest looks great.

I can't help thinking about Yggdrasil. Smile

Yggdrasil? Huh, I never thought of that, but you're right, it does kind of look like it!

I could plant more saplings amongst the leaves to make it look more tree-esque, and I was also thinking of doing several more of those tall trees and possibly doing an entire village up there, kind of like the village in the Savage Jungle in LoLG. This build does have a lot of potential!

I'm doing some 1942 videos right now, but later tonight I will have some creamsicle-flavored fog (Juicy Jays tasty drops FTW), I'll channel my inner architect and we'll see what happens.

Skytropia

As for the survival build, your comparaison to Yggdrasil sparked my creativity.

I'll expand the house to several levels, and make the tree ginormous. I'll also try and do a network of houses with the giant tree as it's nexus.

Here is a look at my ice world large scale build. Since I have gone back to 1942, I may, or may not continue that one.

I screwed up the Yggdrasil build and I'll start anew. I'm trying the various saplings to see which are the best to make a giant tree. Dark Oak works well and can be grown in clusters of four but grows irregularly and is kind of a pain to make into a giant tree.

Another random survival map which somehow ends up as a build

As for the rabbits, well, I raided a nearby town's farms and picked up carrots and the little bastards started following me around.
