I am working on it. A wide angle screenshot means I have to finish the glowstone covering of the external pyramid, because I don't want to show it unfinished, I will have the shots ready later tonight,
I got delayed by yet more side projects, I did a garden and a waterfall on top of the temple/bibliotheca/railroad structure, it does look nice... What is nicer than a garden of giant mushrooms?
I am working on the outer structure, paving the section and preparing to construct the rest of the guard towers.
I also need to fix some spots of glowstone on the roof inside the pyramid, I blasted the gold blocks and somehow the glowstone was affected and some of it shattered???
I might also do a more advanced rail system. Lots of stuff going on, oh yeah, I need to finish the lava moat and the lava basins around the external pyramid. In the meanwhile, the shot I posted gives a rough idea of what the finished profuct will look like. I used bedrock so there are some errors like blocks at the wrong place, but there's nothing I can do about it so I work around those fuckups.
Alright, I wanted to keep a lid on it until I actually begin, but I have decided on my next project. No rest for the creative mind, this next project will be an underwater city inspired by the Sleep track called Aquarian. Free build should make by job exponentially easier than in Survival mode where I have to add more resources every now and then.
Funny, Thunderblast (a Decepticon gal) thinks the same thing of Megatron. I must say, purple isn't quite my taste, but that's the armor of Unicron. This Megatron is in the Cybertron - Robots in Disguise animated series. He is even more badass as Galvatron.
Bur back to MC... Slight change of plan, I have opted for an underground city rather than underwater. I still will do Aquarian, but I spawned right next to a natural cave, so I settled there, I am building a stairway and I will keep going until I hit Bedrock, and this will become the new base.
The underground base is up to a nice start. I picked the Voxel Box texture pack to give this build a futuristic/alien look, with some industrial touch. This is meant to be played with the VB TP because I use a material that normally has NO PLACE in my builds. I also use Glowstone to give a nod to Phantasy Star 4, anybody who has played the game will see the hint at the game through my build.
This base will be complete to live in. I am currently building a greenhouse (which I call the New Stoner Breed's Holy Grounds), and I will grow giant mushrooms, wheat, trees, sugar cane, etc.
Another section is the stockage section, as well as furnaces and all. Since I am playing in Free Build, the chests are useless, purely for aesthetic purposes.
The first room takes the lava room concept I did in my gigantic build, but this time with water. The room is divided into two, and there is a waterfall that flows to the glowstone floor.
I will continue the build a bit more before doing a video or screenshots. It's too early to show, it's still in it's very early stages.
This will delay the other build, though, Jez. But focusing on another build for a while is a refreshing change, and I will finish this build with a fresh mind.
The greenhouse was long to do, because I am near the planet's core, and there were no open caves down there, so I had to not only build the room but also destroy all the unnecessary rubble. I'd say it took about five hours to do.
The Glowstone in the floor that points the way was inspired by Phantasy Star IV. There are some futuristic dungeons in the game, and they have a glowing line that shows the paths through the dungeon. I thought I'd do that with my build, and tribute a classic RPG.
So far only the storage/crafting room and greenhouse are complete. The video ends where I am in the build, and I will do another big room, and several other rooms. I still have to do the living quarters, kitchen/cafeteria, and of course a control room. A futuristic dungeon needs computers and machinery, and I can accomodate that.
