| I've been using Fast Exit as well and it's really useful. Thanks Paul!
I've actually started over because I had messed things up with my heroin (killing guards). I'm playing an Imperial mercenary and it's fun. Doing the Arena, the Thieves and Fighters quests. I will get started with the Dark Brotherhood soon. I'm skipping the Mages quests for now (and probably indefinitely).
I'm using the Tyrael modded armour with a nice retex and it's great. Of course it costs my character an arm and a leg and I've spent most of my time plundering everything in order to buy the armour (I'm almost done).
I'm going to level up through the quests before going to Shivering Isles. I've picked combat talents mostly so the thieving quests don't really allow my character to level up. I'm not complaining since playing a non violent character would make the game unplayable since level scaling makes enemies stronger regardless of your character's orientation (no matter what a higher level speechcraft focused character will be weaker than a weapon fanatic of a lower level).
I can only hope that Skyrim will provide a less constrictive way of solving quests and real dialogues because Oblivion is rather limited in these areas (and it shows). |

| Oblivion is magic oriented. A pure mage can be very powerful at level 12 with the right equipment. I will be doing the thieves quest. Am having a hard time keeping my character alive. She does have money but I am using the rogue armour. I also installed 'Runeskulls' mods since I am not doing the MQ. They are actually better, much better than the Sigil stones and you can enchant weapons, armour, rings, amulets with them. Don;'t need to belong to the Mage Guild. You just have to find them in ruins and caves. A few merchants sell them but they are very expensive.
Let me know how your character does. |

| I am trying out the Darnified modification. I like the HUD but some of the menus are too small for me. It does allow for choices so I will fool around with it some more and see if I can get it set better for my eyes. It also gives me an idea of what tools I may need for future games. Definitely a stronger magnifier. I really like the local map. It is much easier for me to see.

| Everyone needs a companion or two or three. Here is one from a mod by Modder Emma, the donkey is created by Mr. Silka. The description say he will follow you any where. Wonder if he will go to Shivering Isles. [img] [/img] |

| This donkey is so cute. I hate companions because of the crappy AI (it's better in Fallout 3 or FNV by the way but they're still a major pain to control). |

| I couldn't see a cute donkey companion lasting long in Skyrim The first dragon to swoop down...well...it would be roast donkey for your evening supper |

| I wonder if Mr Silka will do animals for Skyrim. He does a great job but the ones I have seen are regular animals. Skyrim I think needs more exotic ones. Pet mammoth s would not fit in a house, maybe a castle but not even a manor house. |

| Crap, I haven't started the Dark Brotherhood quests but my character got into a scuffle with a vampire and now he has turned. Feeding is a pain and as I remember if I neglect feeding then the sun will start hurting him and people will no loger talk to my Imperial. The quest to become human again is a real pain as I remember... |

| Not really. A bit tedious as you have to find a potion. I also found it a bit weird. If you don't really remember it I won't say anything until you finish it. Some things I didn't like in Oblivion besides the usual where: thelength of the spells 14 secs for night eye at the start might get it leveled up but is a real pain when you are fighting enemies in the dark. I hope the new system in Skyrim is better. My rogue is going to have trouble if he or she has to kep casting night eye or light while fighting. Going through a dungeon or cave maze then the boring trip trying to remember how to get out. Mark and recall or exit spells as Arcanum had would be nice. Morrowind was great that way and if you got into a situation you couldn't handle you could get away. Dye and then reload breaks game imersion. Maybe I will play a dead man game, you know where if you die youhave to start over. I have had a lot of experience with Oblivion and if the game is balanced it might work. I have a companion now. Vilja, recommended by Nowena. She is fun and very handy to have along. I have set her to essential. I have the Red Rose Manor by Emma. She is the creator of Vilja. I have the donkey to help carry things. This is the first game where I didn't have to worry about how to carry all that loot. I would rather get some good loot instead of a bgunch of junk you have to carry and then sell. |

| I've sold more than 15,000 gold to the fences and I still haven't bought the entire armour set (I still have to buy the legs) and my character is only level 4. With the mods it's hard to complete the arena at that level (which is good).
Anyone knows of a good vampire mod? I find that being unable to feed during fights is a major drawback (I miss this option, it made Vampire Bloodlines really fun). The quest to cure vampirism is long and boring so I'd rather avoid going through it. Feeding on sleeping NPCs is a pain but I can live with it. I didn't mean to play a vampire this time so I have to make do. |

| Yes, the quest is a royal PITA. I ALWAYS carry Cure Disease potions or craft some. Vampirism just isn't worth the hassle. |

| Oblivion vampires are not that interesting. Morrowind did better with them. Keep us updated as to how you are doing. Maybe you can find a mod that supplies human blood that you can use. Run a search on NEXU I know there are mods but I don't remember their names. |

| I've found a mod that gets rid of sun damage. In the meantime my guy is feeding on beggars and sleeping characters.
I've got good memories of vampirism in Morrowind. My character was a real beast after he had turned. It was fun. |

| Morrowind did a better job with the vampires.
I am really enjoying the Vilja Companion mod by Emma. She is a fun and interesting companion. My character Azella bought her a pink teddy bear in Leyawin and she was so happy it made me laugh. The game is coming along nicely. the mods CallSteed, Where's my horse and SaddleBags have been combined. I went into the CS and made My Horse essential so Vilja, Chico and My Horse are all now essential. We are off to pick up the Skeleton Key and then will return to Red Rose Cottage to play house a bit before doing the Countess of Bruma's quest.
I have added Slof's base horse mod so the horses now have reins. We bought the Bravil Bridge House which is a cute little one room cottage near Bravil. Much nicer than what you get if you buy the vanilla house. It is a COBL version, has a soup pot and an anvil. There is a basement for storage, actually has a lot of storage. I now have saddle bags, Chico and Vilja has two special bags for carrying stuff for me. |

| I have picked up a new companion, Fergus, he is a thief but a good fighter. There is an option to have a romance with him. Might be interesting. So far we just talk. He got involved with a nasty woman and had to leave home very suddenly. Her husband wasn't happy. Story of the ages. I am mainly just exploring caves and ruins. Seeing what I may have missed. Done a few of the sub-quests but am not doing MQ or GQ. Vilja has a quest of her own but so far I haven't found the book she needs. We also have a quest for The Red Rose Cottage that I haven't figured out yet. Trying to find some sort of map stone. I haven't tried taking the companions to SI yet. Think I will concentrate on Cyrodiil for the moment. Emma says she has an upgrade for Vilja planned that should be available in a few weeks. She likes Fergus so I hope she will make Vilja more responsive to him. I can't get them to talk to each other. How are you doing, Cara and Paul? Exploring Shivering Isles? |

| Not yet, I've finished the Thieves quests and the Arena. I've done a good part of the Dark Brotherhood and some of the Fighter guild and I've also managed to go through the cure for vampirism so I'm rid of all the annoyance. I'll get to Shivering Isles once my guy gets bored with the more mundane setting (which shouldn't take too long). |

| Please Paul make a new thread if you wish to tell us about the game. It looks really interesting!
My character is level 12 but I'm finding Oblivion a bit boring. I have to wrap a few things up and move to Shivering Isles.
The vampirism cure quest was a pain... Finding the soul gems wasn't that hard but I had to run around quite a bit to find the nightshade leaves. |

| I heard from someone at work tonight that there is a mod to make the wonderful Morrowind look like Ob, but remain the kickass, rock-solid, legendary classic Morrowind. Any truth to that? Playing Morrowind with Ob graphics would be an absolute wet dream, I love Morrowind to death. |
