| You should definitely put some order in your list. Fallout esm should come first followed by the official DLCs and then modded esm: FalloutNV.esm DeadMoney.esm HonestHearts.esm OldWorldBlues.esm LonesomeRoad.esm ClassicPack.esm TribalPack.esm MercenaryPack.esm CaravanPack.esm GunRunnersArsenal.esm Niner.esm As for the esp, put the files that can be overwritten near the top and the more sensitive files at the end of your load order so in case of conflict you want one mod to prevail over another. There are some esps I'm not familiar with. I have 124 plugins in total and they play nice together because I try to put the ones that should overwrite the others (or parts of them at least) at the end. Still it's tricky to find the right set up and I had to get rid of two rather big mods I like a lot because they make my game much less stable. When it comes to mods sometimes less is more. |

| Thanks, Cara, I will get the esms in proper order. I think the mods you may not be familiar with are Coffee stuff which adds the ability to make coffee which can be helpful when playing Hardcore and you don't have time to sleep' Canteen which adds lightweight canteens that can be filled from any water source. It also lessens the weight of clean bottled water but also lessens the amount you get from each bottle. I use that one a lot. The Suite at the Novac inn is a bit of a cheat mod. It enlarges the room there makes it more attractive, adds a healing machine, a working stove, an alchemy lab. You get one potion a day if you activate it. I think they are random. A couple of other things. I can add a link to your mod thread if anyone is interested.
The WISK mod you may be familiar with. I kept it because I do like the weightless ammo.
ndcLegionAssassinPack was made by NDCowdy because I complained about the random Legion assassins. It deletes them. He has another one which lowers their level but they still appear very frequently. It is on Box so is not generally available. I have no idea if he was able to sort out the problems with making the attacks less frequent. |

| I don't remember seeing so many legion assassins... But then maybe they are triggered when you fast travel? I don't fast travel so that may account for the difference.
Then again some of my characters are neutral when it comes to the NCR/Legion conflict and I even had one who was liked by both factions. It's a bit weird but it is not impossible.
I am not familiar with the WISK mod. I like ammo with weight. If you find sleeping and the weight annoying simply turn off hardcore mode as it will remove these features.
As far as putting the esm in the right order it's not such a big deal but it makes more sense this way. The game will sort through the files anyway. Bear in mind that esm files are loaded first regardless of their position (esp files are loaded afterwards) also bear in mind that unticking an esm is not enough. If you want to disable it you have to remove the esm from the data folder (that is not true of esps). |

| Sleeping doesn't bother me as I have my character sleep even when I play in normal mode. Several people told me how to avoid the random assassins but it just wasn't my game play style. I don't do that much fast traveling but you may be right. ND said if I recall correctly that one of the patches changed the assassins to specific locations. There are I believe only four but it felt like more. I was low level and none of my weapons would kill them. In fact they completely ignored whatever I did and just kill my poor character off. Getting their armour is great if you do manage to kill one. I was having Powdergangers attack me and immediately after the Legion. So ND got interested and made up the mod.
The coffee mod is great because you can sell off the coffee. So far I haven't used it to keep awake in the game.So far the only place I have found to make it is at Doc's. |

| I never planned on avoiding the Legion Assassins. Unless I'm mistaken there are assassins for other factions, you can get NCR Rangers chasing your characters for instance. It's probably less common because most players don't mess with the NCR.
My current character could be considered True Neutral (if we decided to use the D&D terminology), she stood with the Powder Gangers against the NCR but stood with Goodsprings against Joe Cobb (on both occasions she sided with the people who were defending themselves). I can't imagine that she would side with the Legion but I don't believe she'd side with the NCR either (she'd probably side with the underdogs like the Khans, the Kings and maybe the Followers). |

| Yes, that is my understanding that the Assasins are who ever get annoyed at you. Interesting side note. I have eliminated several mods and I seem to be getting slightly better graphics. However I also shifted my load order so that could be it too. Not a good test. |

| I can comment on NCR Rangers since they haven't taken lightly to my character siding with the Powder Gangers during the attack. There is a pretty cool dialogue with a bunch of NCR Rangers who give a three day notice before coming for my courier (I had forgotten that part). I don't remember the Legion Assassins giving any warning. The good thing is that until you have reached the Strip you don't have to worry too much about "misbehaving" unless you kill named NPCs that are used in certain quests. I love that FNV doesn't have too many essential NPCs (I can only think of one character that can't be killed at any point in the game). |

| A little note on my new character. Male, Hispanic, named Carlos (yes, I know not very original)/ I took the Wasteland Wilds and Early Riser. Intelligent but no genius. Reasonably strong but no mighty man. Good with lazer and plasma weapons. Agility is a bit low, I had to sacrifice something. Pretty average otherwise.
You can get Niner before the Powerganger quest. He is rather fun. My new character fits with him better than the old one. |

| Nothing wrong with the name. I had a character named Chico. Wild Wasteland is cool is you want some zany stuff (I always take it this way there are more references to Fallout 1 and 2). Early Riser is a so so trait. Bear in mind that when it comes to traits and perks some choices are really bad and pretty useless (Swift Learner) while others are a bit too powerful. Playing style matters but some perks are bugged (like In Shining Armor for instance). Also bear in mind that completing challenges give you extra perks which is always nice. |

| Thanks for reminding me about the challenges. I do tend to forget about them. I find that Early Riser makes me plan more when I have a choice as to when a battle will start. Niner is a fun companion. I am playing this character as a neutral. He just wants to survive, have some fun, is not judgmental, Probably doesn't get close to anyone.
Goodsprings is taken care of and now we are off to Pirim and the Mohave outpost which will take care of two things; Niner and ND:s mod will start. Already of the message to start that. Must remember to make sure FRAPS is on. I want some videos with voices. |

| This time around in Purim I picked Victor the Robot for the sheriff. Tooke me a while to find all the needed parts. Back to Radcon to finish that one off. Then will continue with the Express Delivery. Hope to get a couple of videos of that. |

| I have installed the Centered 3 RD Person Camera mod. I don't like that off to the side camera. Not a bright idea Obsidian. I have also installed the Fertile Wastelands mod. Boring landscape in the vanilla game. I have lived in the Southwestern desert area and traveled through various western deserts. They are not boring especially if you are walking or horseback riding. Fantastic, awe inspiring rock formations, the plants are interesting. Still missing the wildlife that abides there but I guess the rads have killed off the small life.
The Fertile Wasteland mod is excellent. Adds just enough and does not get carried away. Much better. Thanks Cara for recommending it. |

| Companions I currently have four companions plus a dog. Sunny and her dog Cheyenne are from a mod. Good companions but add no dialogue interest. Niner from a mod. Good companion and adds dialogue interest. Neither of these companions affect the number of companions I can have.
Boone the sniper. Adds no dialogue but is certainly handy to have along. E.D.E handy for carrying things. Main reason to have him/it.
I can now get Cass a companion but would have to drop Boone.
My question is as I move along who do you think are the best companions? Should I get a mod that allows for multiple companions? Your opinion please. Do you know of other companion mods that would add an interesting an useful companion? |

| I always thought Boone was pretty awesome. Miserable git mind you but then hes not had a happy life. Very useful with his sniper rifle for picking off decent enemies and his personal questline isn't bad. Veronica is useful if you want someone charging into melee as a distraction but personally her voice always got on my nerves. Cass I really liked as a companion and her questline was quite enjoyable. As for FNV mods I have no idea, I assume anything that works like Ultimate Follower Overhaul for Skyrim would be a good choice. |

| Thanks, Chris. Do you know where Boone goes if I dismiss him as a companion to get Cass? I would probably take temporarily. Right now I do not need someone who charges in I have Cheyenne and Niner. Cheyenne I could let die but I think Niner is set to essential at least until you finish his quest line. |

| He goes back to Novac. During the day hes in his apartment and at night hes up in the dinosaur. Of course once you get to New Vegas you can tell him to stay in the Casino apartment. |

| Am up to level 15. A fairly balanced character I think. Specializes in Energy weapons and repair. Sneak, melee weapons and unarmed are low.
I am currently doing the Fort Hope quests. Just discovered that the brook through the Fort is clean water. I am now off to join forces with some guy to attack the Legion at Nelson. Haven't done that one yet. I have Boone, EDE, Sunny and Cheyenne along. Niner is doing something at New Vegas, I will pick him up later.
I am not finding a good selection of powder to make ammo. Have been checking the Caravan Merchants. Wow are the addons expensive. With ND's mod help I have a little over 3000 caps. Sell everything I can and buy needed ammo. So far no really outstanding armour. |

| You already have too many companions IMO. The game must be incredibly easy (and boring) with so many followers. I'd suggest rotating between the companions so you can trigger their quests and learn more about them. Raul, Arcade, Lily and Rex aren't that bad either although Rex is hard to keep alive (if you're playing hardcore). - Quote :

You don't like Felicia Day? I always set my followers on ranged combat because in my experience when they rush in close quarters they end up dead (the reason why I find Rex hard to keep around). Companions also make sniping and using cover difficult since you can't tell them to pull back or not engage the enemy. It's frustrating. |

| I have the Vegas Suite now. I like EDE for carrying things. I like to pick up everything I can. So far the only other Vanilla companion I can get is Cass. I may have Boone stay there and get her in a little while. Pick up Niner at least he talks. Boone stays alive. He is a sniper and I would like to finish his quest. Sunny and Cheyenne can also stay at the suite.
You are right about the game getting easy. The fight for Nelson was boring. Oh well at least I saved some NCR troopers. I think I will wander around Vegas a bit. Then do some more exploring. |

| You can make the game more challenging with Increased Wasteland Spawns and Random Encounters. It will increase the number of enemies so you may want to add a mod that reduces the amount of XP you're character is getting (I made one). |

| I started up Fallout NV again. I do love the game. I find their egion concept very intriguing. I may eventually do a game where I side with the Legion.
Still only level 5 level with this character. Picked up Sunny, Cheyenne and Niner as companions. I have the Tower mod installed which is a bit of a cheat and I find I use fast travel more because of it. I like having a safe place to store all the odds and ends I pick up but really must resist the temptation to rely on it for healing etc.
NDCowdy did such a good job with his Express Delivery mod I wish he had done more. He doesn't do gigantic mods but little jewels. He takes pains to get the details correct which is very important to me.
I also told Scythe on Dragon Captions I would check out a mod he is working on for Skyrim so I need to clean that game up. Haven't bought the DLCs for it yet except the Hearthfire one. |

| That Major at Camp Forlorn Hope is a sneaky one. After doing a couple of things for him he says that if I help around the camp he can release some soldiers to retake Nelson so little me says sure. Next thing I know I am retaking Nelson with the soldiers help. Now wait I didn't agree to do that! I cleaned out some mods and have the Wasteland Perk and am getting a few interesting encounters not so blah and depressing as when I first started playing. Level 8 and have only died three or four times. Added; That was interesting. My character is no prude but she doesn't go around killing people for no reason. After the battle for Nelson I was just wandering around and started meeting up with Legion explorers who paid me no attention but would walk up to the companions inculding the doge and ask "who's your contact?" Came across a watch tower with a few Legion Explorers and decided to punch the guy on the tower out. He fell off went down a cliff and then the Explorers got made so we took them out. Strange does anyone have any idea why they would ignore someone who just killed or helped kill a bunch of them? It was in the area east of Nelson.
