Do we have a MEDIA tag?

Do we have a MEDIA tag on this forum and what is its syntax?

I am used to the following...

[media]http://www.dcoffey.co.uk/images/reaper/reaperguide/OllySampleReaGate.mp3[/media]

But the forum doesn't seem to parse the tag in that form.

If we don't have it, then don't worry - I just took the MEDIA tag out and left the .mp3 as a clickable "open in another tab" link.

Not that I know of. I have to confess that I'm not an expert so I'd suggest looking for answers over there: http://help.forumotion.com/

Nope - we don't have the MEDIA tag - never mind then.

I have tried other ways of testing it but as you can see from the above example, it fails to parse it... in fact if you paste in a media tag it reformats it to one which begins open square bracket media equals close square bracket... almost if it half knows what is expected but doesn't quite understand.

We can manage without... at least until we get any active VA projects.

Well, if you have an idea that would help us circumvent this limitation it would be great.

As you said, there were no tips in that FAQ to do with the media tag...

I tried (without the spaces)

[ media ] link to an mp3 [ /media ]

and

[ media = link to mp3 ] text [ /media ]

Oddly enough when you just put the MEDIA tag round an mp3 and submit the post, it adds in an equals for no apparent reason.

It certainly does not recognise the media tag because it doesn't realise the /media one is the closing pair.
