| Thanx for the invite Carabas. Good to be here. Old Coot here aka Froggy and a few other names you wouldn't want your momma to hear ya say. LOL!
Not much to tell about me really. I play New Vegas/Fallout 3 mostly. Mainly into Bethesda/Obsidian games. I'm probably the oldest dude here. Being born in '46 makes ya pretty much the oldest gamer anywhere almost.
Anyways, like I said above, good to be here and hope to get know y'all and have some fun.

| Howdy ther, Oldcoot46. You are not quite the oldest, I have you beat by a couple of years but we are in pretty much the same category. We have our own emoticons too. It is good to have you here. Please look around and post where ever you want. We are a pretty relaxed, informal forum so don't be shy. |

| Welcome Old Coot46! Feel free to tell us about your interests and your site. I'm looking forward to seeing what your next character will look like. You may be interested by the mod lists I've posted (don't hesitate if you have any recommendations). I'm having a blast myself with my new character: screen. |

| I always play guys as I can't make a nice female face for a character in game so for a change I've decided to use an NPC's face for my character (modifying it a bit). I didn't want her to look like a tart but I wanted a sexy vibe (although I play her like a tomboy). OldCoot46 has posted a very interesting introduction for his character, you can find it here. Writing up a story (or at least thinking about some sort of background) really helps with putting back some RPG elements in these games. |

| Thanx for all the Welcomes. I will more then likely be spending more time here then my own site. Renewal for the domain name is swiftly approaching and since my Military pension has been cut, I won't be renewing it.
As for my character, Teague, he is coming along nicely. He is one of the few I have made a back story on and am enjoying playing him immensely. Only thing is, he's a Merc and not many paying gigs in the Wastelands of Nevada. So he won't be very rich, not with the price of ammunition.
Having to kill in defense, doesn't pay much either. But it does pay for some ammo that is being used. |

| Sorry to hear about your pension cut but glad you will be here. As I said we are pretty informal so just relax and don't worry about mods and administrators jumping on you. We encourage the use of spoilers for things that might be offensive to the weak and for others things too. We are just a bunch of renegads who got tired of the bossy, master of the universe mentality and joined together to creat a forum we were comfortable with. There are rules, have to be, the site provider demands it. Just the normal rules most forums have. |

| I will abide by any and all rules. Some site hosts do not allow certain things. So you go with the flow. But it's good to have a site that I can lay my head, kick my boots off and put my feet up on the coffee table. I will bring the Fabreez, cus after a long day tracking around the Wastes, the smell can get purdy gnarly. Coot |

| Sorry to hear about your pension, that sucks. We're open minded when it comes to being offtopic or posting in old threads so you won't have to worry about getting a moderator on your back for that. We don't condone any illegal activities and the usual things like racism, pornography, piracy... That's pretty much it. Common sense is what matters. If you want you can start a thread about Teague and post links to the pictures you've uploaded. The backstory is interesting and since you've started writing his story you should keep it up. In any case you should check out New Vegas Bounties, your character will have enough work to keep him occupied for quite a while. Nice avatar! |

| I will start a thread soon. As for Bounties. I tried the original version of it and it caused my game to CTD all the time. The mod author didn't think it was important to try and help with the issue, so I decided to not try anymore.
Glad you like the avatar. |

| It must be a conflict with some other mod. There is probably something that can be done about it. I can understand that you don't want to use this mod if you feel this way -although it may just be a misunderstanding as modders can be under a lot of pressure at times. Anyway there are other mods that add content but Bounties is perfect for a merc and in my experience it's really smooth. Nevertheless there are some dungeons and quests that may keep you busy for a while (I haven't finished testing these mods yet). |

| I have even tried it as the ONLY mod. Still CTD'd on me. As for the author of the mod, when I pm'd him about it, he snubbed me, by saying that I am just ignorant and the problem is not his, but mine. |

| Not nice. I don't know that modder but he's been doing a lot of work with this mod (lip sync is a pain and this mod has many lines). Did you try this with an early version of the mod? Was your game patched? Perhaps the file was corrupted. Have you tried downloading it again?I have more than 60 mods running at the moment and some pretty big ones and New Vegas Bounties works for me. It would be a good series of quests for a merc like Teague but if it doesn't work without any other mod then there is most certainly a problem with the files you've downloaded.
I've posted some links for quest mods but I can't recommend any yet as I haven't finished them. |

| It was his first release that I tried. I dl'd it 3 times and installed it numerous times. Same results. I'm no where a no0b with mods, so I can normally fix my own issues before I post a question regarding it.
After posting a couple times in his release threads, with no responses, I pm'd him and was surprised with his reply. |

| That is a nice avatar. Strange that the mod causes all those CTDs. Did you try uninstalling it, make a clean game, re-download and install? Maybe you got a corrupted copy, that does happen occasionally. |

| I'm currently playing The Most Dangerous Game mod, it's fun but there are some glitches and bugs. I don't think it's entirely the mod that is at fault although I can tell that some triggers didn't work because of a glitch and I had to reload a previous save. Then again I'm running many mods together so that can cause weird things.
Sometimes the most silly thing can prevent the game from launching. I've spent quite some time picking out mods for my current run and at the last minute I added a minor mod that I wanted to try out and it turned out that this mod alone was creating a conflict with the other mods and prevented me from launching the game. I didn't think it would as it was a rather minor mod but either it deleted a reference that another mod needed or it did something that was at odds with some other mod but the game didn't launch anymore.
So there is no telling what may be messing up a game sometimes.
That being said if a mod prevents the game from loading when no other mods are checked then that is a very serious issue. I would assume there was something corrupted in the archive and I would have suggested using another mirror to download the file. Besides an early release can be buggy but I understand if you don't want to try again now. |

| I might try it another time. I will be making another character after I get over being upset at the game for corrupting my save for Teague. |

| That sucks when that happens. I had two great games ruined by that save game corruption it's a real pain.
If you start over, keep a save at a stage before completing My Kind of Town. I think I have an idea on how to implement what you've suggested but it would require some testing. |
