I've started trying this mod out: Practice Makes Perfect. It gets rid of the XP system to introduce a system similar to the Elder Scrolls series, your character's skills level as you use them. This makes for a completely different gameplay experience and it is a very enjoyable change. So far it's been working flawlessly for me.

This list has convinced me to buy New Vegas on the PC (I already have 100+ hours on PS3), solely for the mods. Thanks a ton, Carabas!

You're welcome. FNV really shines once you've figured out which mods you want to use and found out the perfect balance for you. I couldn't play unmodded FNV anymore because I need the custom outfits which I can combine and modify as I want in the Geck. If that wasn't enough mods allow to play without the hud if you want to (getting rid of the sneak meter makes sneaking so more fun) and IMO the biggest flaw from a gaming perspective, i.e. the lack of enemies, can be fixed with mods like Increased Wasteland Spawns, A World of Pain and Monster Mod that turn the wasteland into a dangerous and unforgiving place. Last but not least you have quest mods like New Vegas Bounties that add plenty of quality gaming time.

Yeah, I now have a huge folder of bookmarked mods I'll need to download. A ton of graphics mods and things that just change small aspects of the game, along with quests and new locations, and another folder for weapons and armor.

Pretty sure somebody already listed it, but Dog City Denver looks awesome. Makes sense to borrow from Van Buren for a mod, since New Vegas took a lot of its storyline and such from it.

Way ahead of you there friend. I haven't played the sequel yet but it sure looks promising: Beyond Boulder Dome.

Yeah, I saw that, as well. I'll be playing Boulder Dome after it's updated a bit, as I hate updating mods

Breton Warrior has made a "house" mod for Fallout NV based on the one he made for Fallout 3. A cozy one in the first water tower you see when you start the game. The one at the Goodsprings Graveyard. It is not a God house mod but does have the work benches, lab and the healing thing. Lots of stuff but no super weapons or armour. I like it. Here is the NEXUS link: Water Tower House Mod

I'm not that much into house mods but this one looks very nice Nakia, thanks for the link.

I had no navimesh problems with but there isn't much room for followrs. No one stood on furniture or did anything weird except Cheynne whose animations to start with can be a bit strange. Everything works so I think it makes an excellent starter home. At least the bed doesn't look as if it had bugs in it.

Lol, no radroaches either I hope. At Goodsprings I use Victor's Shack, I really don't know why Victor would need a shack so I make it my home.

One important thing I keep forgetting is that if you have Companion mod, Niner, and the Novac Room Suite mod installed do NOT activate the Novac Room suite until after you have finished Niner's quest in Novac. The Suite mod will break the quest and you will not be able to complete it.

Thanks, Cara, question, Do I need to download Breeze Bodies to use those two mods or Roberts? If so, which is the better body mod?

You can use the unmodded body since there are versions made for the regular body. IMO the problem with male body replacers is that you have to replace every armour in the game when any part of the body is visible otherwise it will look weird. Whenever I use a male body replacer I create a custom race so the NPCs aren't affected.

I have not used this mod because I do not think I need it. My computer should be able to handle FNV without any problems and I have noticed none. However it might be good if someone has an older computer. Use at your own risk. NV Performance Improver

Old thread, but I recently went back to NV and it is EXTREMELY crashy with Win10 especially after the anniversary update. This fixes the ridiculous crashyness. Seriously, it would crash every 5 minutes and textures would glitch out like crazy.

I've reinstalled FNV and I've found some new mods that are awesome! Loot Menu for FNV allows you to loot containers (and corpses) without opening them (just like in Fallout 4). It makes looting much less painful. FOV Slider, incredibly convenient you can change the various FOV when you feel like it without messing with the ini and that includes the Pipboy FOV. I haven't tested it in game yet but the Cazaclaws seem like the stuff of nightmares and I can't wait to get one in my sights. I've been meaning to give the Near Death mod a try as well as it opens up some cool options (and should be quite interesting with increased spawns all over the battlefield).
