Has anyone here played Stronghold. It is an old game but after installing Immortal cities - Children of the nile, 8th Wonder of the World and Ceasar IV I am tempted to see if I can find my disk and if I can install it on this Machine. I hadso much fun with that game and wonder if I would still enjoy it.
So there wasn't much in the way of voice acting. It was a lot fun taking on the enemies. The only name I remember is Pig.
For some reason the things that stand out in my mind are the following besides the fun enemies.
A certain species of tree that grew like mushrroms. Took over if you didn't set a wood chopper to chopping, Being able to build waslls over rocky spots, up hill and down. The various levels of forts and strongholds. Needing to link the grannies together was a bit of a nuisance but every game needs something to complain about.
Bandits that you could recruit. All the differet soldiers that flopped on the ground and rested after a march. They looked like real soldiers. You could take a peek in the workshops and see what people were doing. Tabbit infestations. Naturally they had the evil wolf . They ran in packs and I do not remember them barking just howling.
Marry off the king with church bells ringing a merry tune. A nice map editor where you make a uber map if you wished.
Ah, the old days. Where they really that great or am I just being nostalgic?
