| I've just finished playing all the faction quests (the ones under "faction" not side quests) and I'm really satisfied with them. Of course there is a bit of running around but that's to be expected in CRPGs but what I really like is not only the quest and level design but first and foremost that these quests take into account the nature of the character (i.e. being Fateless).
In fact most of these quests wouldn't work at all with any other character. This is always a good thing and it gives a feeling of playing a very special character without necessary losing sight that in this world being such a being is both a blessing and a curse.
The only criticism I could voice would be that although the dungeons aren't too big (which IMO is not a bad thing really) is that some of them can be a little too much focused on combat. I'm thinking of the Travellers questline for instance. It begins rather nicely but then you have a big fight coming and in many ways this is too direct and too blunt. It's not very rogue like. Then again in this game a rogue/thief had probably dispatched thousands of foes by the time he or she gets to the middle of the main quest... It's just that I would have preferred a more "roguish" line. It picks up after that but still there is this big fight early on that makes it less special than it could have been. Fortunately the rest is more something that a rogue character would enjoy.
Other than that I have only good things to say. Usually I'm not into playing mages as they bore me but I find the quest of the Schola Arcana really interesting.
The House of Ballads is different and perfectly depicts the lore of the game with the faes and the Telling.
Even the Warsworn line is rather well thought out and involves some investigation to unveil a nefarious opposition and is not just about fights.
Last but not least the option to get one of two Twists of Fate at the end is really nice and adds some replayability to the game (I'm already thinking about playing an evil character instead of my goody two shoes). Without this option the game would simply be another adventure game. This choice may not change everything but it brings back some much needed RP elements into the action.
So which one is your favourite? Remember to use spoiler tags if you think that what you're posting may be giving away some of the plot. |

| I haven't played the game a lot since I pretty much renewed my relationship with my favorite time vampire Minecraft, but the Warsworn quests were fun, especially smashing those bastards Niskaru. |

| I'm very much enjoying the Warsworn plotline. I also inexplicably love Gwyn Anwy. |

| These quests are fun and I have yet to complete them with an evil character.
I really like the end of the game as well (mostly there is one thing I didn't like but I won't spoil it for you guys of you haven't played through the game at least once). |

| I'm really looking forward to doing the Travelers questline on my Dokkalfar rogue. They seem like a fun bunch. But, I'd like to do Reprisal Reprised before I do any Travelers quests, and I cannot find a single damned antelope. I went up and down Odarath and Yolvan for about half an hour, and only found two antelope. To make matters worse, I fast traveled over to Allestar, and killed a bunch of antelope: Except I couldn't loot the Allestar antelope for their heads. |

| I've played this quest several times, just go back they should spawn and you may even get some extra antelopes (not that it matters). |

| Finally got those goram antelopes, and now I'm doing the Travelers questline. I'm loving the feel of the faction. Reminds me a lot of the gypsies from Fable 2, but a lot cooler. |

| I really like the end of the Travellers questline. I feel the beginning is too focused on combat (it shouldn't be the case with this faction). |

| True, but the quest I just did, where you kill the Lord of the Hunt... That was incredible. I'm only level seven currently, so that fight was actually scary. He could easily get me down to past half health with a single hit, so I couldn't let him touch me at all. Had to use a careful mix of bow and arrow, frost mines, and gratuitous dodging. |

| That's exactly the quest I had in mind. It can be very frustrating if you're not well prepared. |

| Ha, yeah, and trust me, I was absolutely not prepared. |

| IMO that's one of the most difficult fights in the game. I don't mind that but I think it should have been part of another questline. I for one didn't assume that a new member of the Travellers had to be that good in combat. |

| Yeah, very true. I mean, what kind of Hierophant would send their newest recruit straight into battle with the Lord of the Hunt, who they know is one of the most skilled combatants in all the Faelands?
His bleeding damage... I only got through that battle because of my minor health regen potions.
Of course, at the same time, I don't really see where it could fit into the other factions. The Warsworn is too focused on the Fahrangi and the Niskaru, the House of Ballads is all about the stories and whatnot... Maybe the Scholia Arcana? |

| Yeah and putting it farther down the line would have meant going back to the Sidhe instead of moving to new areas... Still it's not a very subtle task. A (really good) thief should have another solution at his or her disposal. Combat is such an uncivilized way of dealing with one's enemies... Backstab is much more fun. |

Nakia the Rogue Janitor

| I am going to go off game topic. My favorite character was and is Nakia Nightshadow from Icewind Dale II a game a didn't like that much.
Hafling fighter/thief. Because she was short she could slip around unseen very easily. Used a sling, crossbow and short sword. I also loved it when a bunch of baddies showed up. "Here they come! More loot for all!"
Fought dirty, no nice guy fighting for her. Was great at luring individuals back to the party to be decimated.
A good thief/assassin rules. |

| The best part about being an agile character in KoA is being able to dodge around the battlefield and hit quickly and all that. I beat tough enemies without even getting hit once sometimes. It's fantastic. |

| I know exactly what you mean Skorp. It's worth playing just for that nice little twist. IMO that's the sort of things that make this game much more than just another hack and slash fest. |
