| Of course, the same technological progression thing could be said for, say, A Song of Ice and Fire. There've been no technological improvements for a long, long, long time in Westeros. The only real improvement they've had is jumping from obsidian to bronze when the First Men came to Westeros, and then from bronze to iron and eventually steel when the Andals came. |

| This is especially odd, as there's an entire order dedicated to the study of science and learning. |

| Probably the best fantasy was Arcanum with its duality of technology and magic. As you progressed in the game the technology got better and better. I always played the technology line. It was a lot of fun. |

| The world of Arcanum is a steampunk world: Victorian age with fantasy elements rather than medieval. There are many medieval aspects in the game but it plays on the clash between the more technological nations defeating medieval kingdoms.
I think that they care more about preserving the key elements from the franchise so it stays the same.
In all fairness Fable is one of the few game series in which the world evolves. The first one was a typical medieval fantasy game, the second one looked a lot like it took place around the 16th century and the third one (which I haven't played) seems to look like the 18th century. |

| I never played Fable. Heard a lot about it and am a little sorry I didn't play it. I really enjoyed Arcanum. Not just for the technology but for other aspects. The graphics were great. Not sure how they would look to me now but when I played it they were wonderful. There were some fun quests too. Lots of choices. I never did manage to play an evil character though. |

| Arcanum has depth and many quests and good stories. I'm afraid it didn't look that great however. The art direction was nice but the game itself was a bit lacking IMO. I have it installed with a high resolution mod and it really helps. |

| What I've heard about Fable:
Fable 1: Pretty good, didn't live up to Molyneaux's hype, but, what does?
Fable 2: Pretty good, but declining in excellence.
Fable 3: Bleh. |

| Fable 1 was an incredibly fun game. Fable 2 was incredibly easy and silly (your character couldn't die, the game was incredibly short). What I've heard about Fable 3 is that it's pretty much like Fable 2 (only a little shorter but with better graphics).
Fable 2 never made it to the PC (I played it at a friend's). |

| *sigh* And, Morrowind Graphics Extender randomly stopped working for me, and now there's just a black screen with the HUD and nothing else. Time to delete my entire Morrowind folder and try again. On the bright side... Morrowind with the Graphics Extender looks freaking AMAZING. |

| I tried getting Morrowind to run on my current computer but never succeeded. It seems it doesn't like Vista. |

| Really? I played it on Vista back before I had my current laptop, and it was fine. |

| Well on some computers it won't run. Computers being what they are sometimes the same OS can play tricks on us. I never had any problem with XP and my old computer. Many people have reported issues with Morrowind and Vista it's not an isolated case. The game simply won't start. |
