Cara can do what I think is a credible Irish accent and a Scottish one. Not sure he can do a French one. Sue, we both know, is gifted. If Daniel turns up we are good to go. Oh, me I do a pretty good older for voice, just seem to have talent for that.

Nylonathathep has actually registered here a long time ago but I don't think he's visited more than once or twice. I really liked his mod for Fallout 3 it brought an entire new level to the Mothership DLC (and Jez's VA on this mod was amazing -I became a fan before Nakia told me she knew her).

As far as the saloon is concerned it all started with Nakia telling Jez and me that she wanted her own forum where nobody would give anyone a hard time. Nakia and a few of us here met on another forum which wasn't that bad actually but it became increasingly annoying because of people ranting about political stuff and airing their prejudice and bigotry (that's the part I ended up resenting). I'm probably what Americans would call a "liberal" but it's not that I don't like people with more conservative views, it's more that I grow tired of people with a holier than thou attitude preaching about things they know nothing about (like the rest of the world when none of them has ever lived in a third world country). Well I don't mean to rant.

To make a long story short, I'm the one who came up with the idea of the free site (this entire forum doesn't cost any money) and I'm the one who set it up. Nakia tried to trap me into being the admin here and since I don't like being the authority figure I decided that Jez and her should be admins too so we basically shared the title.

As time went by our crew got larger and we decided to give our regulars special titles (stuff that would rhyme with "janitor" our title for moderators).

The point I'm trying to make is that there is no boss, no leader. Nakia and I are the people in charge but that doesn't mean that we have any prerogative over regular members just that we have responsibilities when it comes to enforcing our rules.

As far as rules are concerned it's pretty much common sense: no illegal stuff including piracy, this site is not meant to be used to make money or for commercial stuff, no pornography and nothing too graphic (consider it PG13) and last but not least we try our best to keep things congenial so no hostility, no flaming or trolling and no text message (we have a zero tolerance on text speak). We frown upon cursing and swearing but we do not censor words here (so you can talk about your favourite Bond movies including Octopussy without it showing up as Octo*****). The occasional swear word is something we can live with but it shouldn't be systematic (saying "fuck" -pardon my French- all the time is not something we consider cool).

And I think that's it (Nakia will fill in the gaps if there are any left).

Skorp's voice is incredible. I'm sure Tri can do some great VA as well since he is involved in radio stuff in real life. Don't forget Sil who can do an incredibly sultry voice... If you ever need a femme fatale for a mod she's the one who can pull it off. As for me I've tried very hard to lose my French accent in English so I'm not sure I can do a real French accent (I can probably do the fake accent English speakers expect when they think of a Frenchman speaking English) regarding the Irish accent I've never been to Ireland (yet) but I've lived in Scotland so I picked something of a Scottish accent while I was there (it is not as strong as it once was since I had to tone it down quite a bit for work). Most of us are beginners when it comes to voice acting and we could benefit from some tips from VA veterans (we miss Jez's expertise on the subject as we miss her sparkling personality and I hope she will visit now that you're here).

That's such a waste. I can't say that I'm surprised though as we've been hearing about what's been going on over there... I don't want to comment but it seems to me that this guy is very good at pushing away people. I don't think it helps to dwell on it too much and I don't think we should bring those issues to the Saloon either but if you need to talk it's better to get it off your chest.

In the meantime if you want to use the saloon as a new HQ for VA and stuff feel free, we don't have much in the way of hosting capability so we will have to look for other websites for storage but it shouldn't be too much of a problem (hopefully).

Any one trying to be THE BOSS here is going to get stomped on hard by the other members. and I mean members. They are the ones who are important and first and foremost that is what we all are. We have no special perks for anyone. I mean it when I say we are equal.

Cara, you aren't a Liberal. You are a hmm, there must be word for it. Just someone who respects all cultures, all people. Politically you may be a leftist. French style?

I appreciate the understanding, I will try not to rant about... well, you know, that Dude.
I did put a lot of stuff in the VA's Guild, and it would be handy to have some of it, but sadly, I may never see any of my own work that was only on TEG, and I would like to have the names and contact info of people that recorded for the site. I have all my recordings, and just about all the recordings posted by others, but my explanations, and the VA's Textbook would be handy to have as a reference. I need to find a place to restart my "Your Friend in Texas" blog like thing, it was enjoyable for me. A few people regularly posted there and where very friendly. I may do that here, after I look around more, and see how things are set-up, I like to post links to other things, and having a player option for Videos is handy, and any Voice Files I post are just links to the files at MediaFire, and images are really at ImageShack, so file sharing and storage is not a problem.

Anyway, I already like this site.

Just so you know, I tend to go on and on about things sometimes, and my postings can get overlong, I try, but keeping me to just a few words is sometimes a little difficult. And I really need to start my Blog thing, so I can talk to myself, and everybody else can ignore me if I am too boring.

Mr. K, as for anything to do with voice acting go down to the VA coral. We have a sub-forum for guides. You can start one there I can pin it for you if you wish. We have a forum for practicing which is members only viewable. Center stage can be used for something special you have such as your radio program. Just take a look. Let us know what you want and we will do our best to accommodate you.

I lean towards the left it's true but I can't recognize myself in any political organization. They all have political agendas and are all too busy telling people how they should do things without setting the right example. In another time and place I would have been a Luddite.

By the way I can set up a new subforum for you if you need one (I'm already considering adding a Film Review subforum if Sue77 keeps posting them).

I am not ready to start my Blog yet, and It will be just a Topic in a forum, not really a Blog. Just so you know, I had 2 or 3 hundred pages of postings in the 3 or 4 different Chapters or versions of my blog, posted over the last 3 years. I started it as soon as Giskard made me the Moderator for the Voice Actors Guild.

OK, RL is forcing me to go do other things now, so I will check back latter today.

Sorry, Mr. K, Silvery and I have ealked a different path but we have a lot in common so you will see a somewhat different side of me. Silvery was one of my first friends when I came out of the old age closet and got active on the Internet.
