| The Skyrim patch thread inspired me to make this thread. Discuss anything you want gaming-related, be it an old, forgotten gem or a recent game, this is the place to do so.
I shall start this one by continuing on the lines of MM. I consider MM6 to be the BEST MM game EVER, but MM IV and V are breathing down MM6's neck. World of Xeen was superb in itself, but add Darkside of Xeen on top? WOW, an adventure going on in two HUGE, and VERY DIFFERENT worlds!
I also fondly remember Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny. Having an evil path, and ending, was superb, even though LoLIII's canon is on the "good" ending. Pfeh! |

| A guilty pleasure of mine is Star Ocean: The Last Hope International. Started playing through it again. I really shouldn't love the story and characters as much as I do, because I know they're not all that good, but...
Well, it's a guilty pleasure for a reason, I guess. |

| I also fondly recall Sword of Vermillion. An awesome classic for the Genesis, it is another game I played to death. The bird's eye, realtime combat is awesome, and the map is fairly big as well.
Another nod to the Phantasy Star games. I played the Master System original classic, then PS3 and PS4 on the Genesis. I have not completed PS2. My favorite is PS4, good story and gameplay, GREAT game. PS3 was... different, I did like the generations thing and multiple, paths I guess and different endings as well. |

| When it comes to JRPGs, my favorites are certainly the Dragon Age series. I also absolutely loved Chrono Trigger. The amount of hours I've spent playing both those series is just not right. |

| FYI I've just read on the Nexus that for 48 hours you can get the original Fallout for free on GOG. If you haven't played it yet you have no excuse for not giving it a try now. It's by far my favourite game. LINK. |

| Ah, sweet. Played and thoroughly enjoyed Fallout 2, but I never got around to playing the original. Thanks for the link. Also, Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut ending DLC announced. And it's free. Nice job, Bioware. |

| Free? That's unheard of. If you've never played Fallout 1 you're in for a treat Dragoniguana. |

| Aye, if it's anywhere as good as Fallout 2, I can't wait. Think it'll have to wait until later, though. I may or may not have just spent the entire day playing through Mass Effect 1. |

| Fallout 1 is WAY better than Fallout 2. Fallout 2 had a few more features but the story in Fallout 1 is far superior and the cultural references never get in the way as much as in Fallout 2. |

| So long as I don't have to deal with that damn pipe gun for two hours.

| You can start with a pistol and if you look around you can get an SMG or a shotgun pretty fast. |

| YES
A PISTOL
THANK GOD
I cannot tell you how much I absolutely loathed the beginning parts of Fallout 2, in which I was stuck with nothing but that stupid pipe rifle which could only take one shell at a time, forcing me to waste a turn reloading it every time I shot. |

| It made sense for a tribal not to have a fully working gun. Getting the flint for the sharpened spear wasn't a waste of time. In Fallout 1 you're playing a Vault Dweller and a handgun is a standard issue. |

| Started playing and, wow, it is nice to have a gun by my side.
On a side note, one of the problems I have with Fallout 1 and 2 is that I wish I could listen to 50's music while I play, instead of the ambient music they have. :\ |

Frankly that's just crazy talk. The music in Fallout 1 and 2 is the best music that I can think of for any video game. IMO the mod that replaces the music from FNV with the one from the original Fallout games is the most important mod I have installed. Just disable it in the options and put a 50s CD in your hifi sound system. Problem solved. If you can't play a CD while you play then just play the intro and record the theme song on your phone so you can play it during the game. Plus you can now use it as a very cool ringtone. |

| Haha, sorry. I just think that that kind of music is a lot more well-suited to when I'm wandering the wasteland in, say, Fallout 3, not when I'm going around a town. It sounds very desolate, IMO.
I think that, after I get New Vegas on PC, I'll see if I can put its sound files in the Fallout folder or something. Who knows, maybe it'll even work. |

| You know I envy you, playing Fallout for the first time was an unforgettable experience for me. Have fun playing one of the most fantastic games ever made. Don't forget to save often and use different save slots because unlike FNV (and most games nowadays) this game will let you screw up many quests if you don't pay attention. |

| I quite envy people who have yet to play an Elder Scrolls game, myself. I'll never forget my first experience with Oblivion. |

| I'd willingly forget about it. Apart from Shivering Isles I never enjoyed this game that much. I had more fun with Morrowind.
Skorpinok, given the fact that you are someone who can appreciate the finer things in life I can't believe you haven't played through this game at least once. Is it the setting? I can't argue with that and I understand that some players prefer fantasy settings but IMO Fallout is worth playing at least once. |

| Back in those days, I was busy as heck with MM, I played I through V then VI. I saw Fallout when I bought my MM collection and almost got it... but when I saw that lone copy of Carmageddon 2 sitting there... I chose it over Fallout.
I do have the game nowadays, though, so I might play it through when time allows it. |

| Hey, Carabas, I think I'm catching your chronic restart syndrome. I just finished a playthrough of Mass Effect as a vanguard, and now I'm getting really tempted to go back and play through as infiltrator... And engineer... And adept... |
