| Let's try and keep this as spoiler free as possible but Car, Dragon and I seem to be running close together. Be vague about locations but I am wondering about how you fared with Gilded Vale. I cleaned the place up and people seem to be fairly happy now. At least the place doesn't smell so bad now. I saw a child near the temple ruins not a ghost but a child but before I could click on him he disappeared..
Those ghostly figures I see sometimes in the wilderness are interesting but I haven't been able to click on any.
I have several quest items in my stash that I picked up early, the water bag, an ancient relic and a key. I did the opening sequence a bit different with my monk and went the long way round. Think I picked up the relic then. I tend to stick everything in my stash except what I can use. I like the way some quests can be anticipate. "Oh, that tattered rag? Is this what you are looking for? Glad to be of service and clean out my backpack."
Don't forget to check your journal, lots of info in there about different things. Forest lurkers seem to be around level nine which is what makes them so bloody hard to kill especially when they gang up on you. Read my bio over. I am an orphan, just wandering around really vague about what I want to do. Monks seem to be rather masochistic to me. Can give themselves wounds to release special power. Mine gets wounded right away so I haven't bothered with that. He can use weapons and wear regular armour but I think that defeats the purpose of being a monk and turns him into just another fighter.

| I didn't get everything in your post. Did you copy paste? By the way we could use spoiler tags to hide stuff: - Spoiler:
this is a spoiler
[*spoiler*] this is a spoiler [*/spoiler*] Just remove the *. |

| Oops, sorry, I think i need an eye break. Lots of stupid typos. Will edit it after I take a break. Thanks for being so polite. |

| In that case I thank your mother she did it right and I wish more would do the same. My grandmother was a stickler for politeness and I do try to be polite. I edited the OP so I think the worse typing was fixed. My right hand was moved to far to the right and I didn't notice. I actually can't see what I am typing when I type it and if I don't reread it that happens. It is a code I just want to see if people are actually reading my posts. Muhahaha.. that isn't true but I like to pretend makes it more fun. |

| Good idea for this thread, Nakia. Yeah, I think I did just about everything there was to do in Gilded Vale. I'll spoiler tag it all just in case: - Spoiler:
I helped out Calisca's sister (which my character did more out of respect for her memory than anything else)
- Spoiler:
I confronted the guy who got his friend killed by that bear. I let him and the woman go, and refused to take their money. My character understands the importance of getting a second chance.
- Spoiler:
I helped get the blacksmith's shipment and the Black Hound Inn's cook. I love how, in this game, even more menial tasks like that have a lot of life to them.
- Spoiler:
I solved the feud between the owner of the mill and the angry villagers. IIRC, I just bought the villagers a round of beer and talked them down.
The only thing I have yet to do in Gilded Vale is confront Lord Raedric - I think I'm going to wait to do that until I'm finished in Defiance Bay. Since this is a spoiler thread, mind telling me where you found that dragon that you killed, Nakia? |

You know for a minute I thought it was a code and I did try and look for a pattern. |

| Dragon Talon location - Spoiler:
Searing Falls south of Defiance Bay across the water. Be careful because what dragon you first get depends on where you enter the map. It also may be random. There is probably a quest related to the area but I haven't come across it yet. Ranged weapons and spells are good because the drake flys. They call them drakes in the game."]
Dragon did you do the following? - Spoiler:
Go into the temple ruins and do the quest you will find there. There is an injured man sitting near where you enter and he will give you the quest.
In regard to Lord Raedric this is a real spoiler - Spoiler:
There are two entrances to the hold not counting the main entrance. One is to the north east of the hold where you enter trough a grate. Take a prybar with you. The other is two the north west where there is a clock tower. You have to climb some vines. The grate enters the dungeon. I did that first. The other enters the top of the hold where there is a temple area. If you where careful in the dungeon to check the cells you will find someone who gives you some help. Of course you don't have to kill Lord Raedricll if you don't want to.

Wow, I had no idea that there was a guy near the ruined temple who gave you a quest. I'm gonna go check that out, ASAP. Thanks, Nakia!

| I would love to hear your reaction when you come to the end of the quest. Be sure to read the dialogue especially in those vision things your PC has.
Oh, if you need help with a puzzle door let me know. Took me a long time to figure it out. |

| The puzzle door was easier than I thought it would be, between the two huge clues the game gives you (the note and the spirit). I'm not quite done with the dungeon yet - I'm working through it now. I'm playing with the option that you can see dialogue options that you don't meet the requirements for - it doesn't let you see the dialogue option itself, but it does let you see what requirement you need to meet. One just says: - Spoiler:
[Eothas] [Requirement Not Met]
I have no clue what it means. It's bugging me. |

| And, done in the Temple of Eothas. I let Wirtan live, told him to try and make amends. He might be a little cowardly, but what happened wasn't really his fault.
Those vision things were freaking intense, though. Holy cow. |

| I think I missed a spirit when down there. I did the same with Wirthan. I found this quest very intense. Dialogue may be based on intellect, lore, or maybe even reputation. Any of your attributes. I.E. you may want to be aggressive but your might may not be high enough. |

| Here are some tips that you may already know and you may have others I don't know. 1) Hold down the tab to highlight chests, and NPCs. Handy for those small items and enemies. 2) I saw a suggestion of giving everyone at least to points in athletics to increase endurance. I am not sure this works but am trying it. 3) I do give everyone two points in lore so that way they can use level one scrolls. 4) Holding down the shift key and clicking on an item in a party member's inventory will move it to the stash inventory. |

| Help! Have you guys done the Lighthouse quest at Defiance Bay, Odra's Gift? I am finding that one absolutely impossible. I hate to think what hard is like. |

I don't know how much it impacts the game but it seems to be making a lot of sense for any adventurers. 3) Interesting idea. I may look into this later. 4) I was dragging the item which works but having several options can't possibly hurt. |

| #2 Thanks, I didn't think of linking it to the right mouse key. #3 I got the idea from Arcanum. There were scrolls that everyone could use and since Level 1 scrolls need two lore to cast decided to try it.

| Finally have something that really annoys me. Being an adicted restarter +I started a game with a ranger PC, lion companion. I like lions. Every time I went into sneak there was this horrible clomping footstep which also sounds as if the character is lame. Well it is the lion. ??? Someone should tell the devs that cats are silently especially when sneaking up on prey. I think they mixed it up with a horse with a game leg and iron shoes. |

| That could probably be fixed by substituting some files.
Kana is pretty noisy and loud but at least he doesn't sound like a horse in a china shop (I assume a horse makes more noise than a bull). |

| I should take a look at the sound files maybe I can find the culprit.
This is an interesting party with no rogue. Durance is my mechanic, crafting and enchanting. I am getting much better at using him. Those priest spells are awesome. I have not gotten the hang of using traps. What in the world do we do with them? Never used them much in BG either. |
