On that, you are 100% correct. Maybe something ala Two Worlds would be nice -- being a mercenary, plain and simple.

More information from the Informer regarding the Dragon Shout. Sorry guys but it does look as if the Chosen one/prophecy rules again but that is part of the Elder Scrolls Lore I am afraid. Dragon Shout

Still, it's a cool and intuitive addition to the game. But it does kind narrow down the RPG choices...

Although I'm not a fan of them being inspiried by Apple (although it doesn't look like it at all), I do like the new interface, even if it looks a bit scienc-fiction-y.

The Chosen One stuff is so predictable that it's becoming a parody...

Well, I didn't play Oblivion for the plot, I can tell you that

I don't think any of us played it for the 'plot'. I doubt Skyrim will have much of a plot either. The graphics look good, the combat system sounds interesting. Not sure about the leveling system. We won't know how good the game is until it is released and we start to play it. Of course Bethesda will tell us how much they have improved it. They want to sell games after all. I haven't read up on the CS. If you guys know anything about it let me know.

I really don't like the veins on those arms, I hope they fix it until the release...

I understand that quests will vary some what for each player based on what quests the player has done before. This is good because it adds more interest to replaying the game. I also understand there will be more small villages which will add more life to the game. In Oblivion Cyrodiil was supposed to be the center of the Empire but there was very little life outside the cities. I haven't heard if they have improved the horseback riding. I do hope they remembered to include reins on the horses. I also found guiding the horses very cumbersome. I have been disappointed by hype before so I am cautiously eagerly looking forward to this game.

I'm not keeping my hopes anywhere, I'll just wait until it comes out and see what it's like. Although my most anticipated game is Guild Wars 2, which I know will be awesome!

Nakia asked me to post on this thread, the 'official' thread for Skyrim, I guess That's because I'm currently building a Skyrim site, it will be a hybrid of blog and social site (not a forum, as such) that will hopefully provide a lot of useful information and interaction as we get closer to game release and, of course, after it comes out. As such I'm currently tracking everything and anything Skyrim - via forums, web sites, Twitter, Google etc. I wouldn't exactly say I'm 'an expert', but I like to think I'm pretty well up to speed on everything we know so far about Skyrim. Things have gone a bit quiet at the moment, after the series of Game Informer 'reveals' through January. The same information (with occasional new snippets) is being rolled out across the world through other regional and national gaming media - so we aren't learning much at present. The next 'biggie' will probably be gameplay video, scheduled for the back end of Feb or early March. We'll see.... If anyone wants to ask anything about Skyrim, feel free to ask. I can't promise to know, but I can probably tell you whether we know.... or not

Thank you, Paul. You are certainly the expert here. I have seen what you can do and it is impressive. Eventually, Cara, will set up a separate forum for TESV/Skyrim. When he is feeling better.

Thanks Paul71, I'm looking forward to visiting your site. You should add a link for the website to your signature. Is it still under construction or can it be visited?

It can be visited, but all you will see is a fairly basic 'coming soon' page, and a countdown to the launch of the site, which I have said will be March 1st (that's really to get me to stop faffing around and getting on with it!) Here goes : The Skyrim Blog |

Well I hope the game will support Xbox controllers for the PC like Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Playing with keyboard and mouse is just annoying once you get used to using a controller.

When Paul is ready we should create a sticky or announcement for his link. This will be an import resource for both players and modders. I also think adding the link to his signature is a good idea if he wishes to do so.

We also need a name and a banner for the Elder Scrolls forum.

| Since Paul is our resident expert on TES I'll let the two of you sort that out. Although I suggest that since it is Skyrim related primarily it be focused on that.
Suggest means: Go ahead ignore me.

We don't have to be experts to come up with a name that is in line with our western themed forum and the Elder Scrolls series. Everyone has a say in the matter then we can decide which name we prefer. That's how we came up with the name of the forum after all.
